January 5, 2025 - Roborock, a global leader in ultra-intelligent home robotics engineered to simplify daily life, is once again at the forefront of intelligent cleaning technology with the debut of the Saros Z70. A cutting-edge robotic vacuum cleaner featuring an OmniGrip, the first-of-its-kind mass-produced* foldable robotic arm with five-axis that can deploy itself to clean areas previously obstructed and (1) put away small items such as socks, small towels, tissue papers, and sandals under 300g (1). With top-notch navigation, vacuuming, and mopping capabilities, the launch of the AI-powered Roborock Saros Z70 is set to add a new dimension to automated cleaning by turning the traditional robot vacuum into a new robotic home assistant.
OmniGrip Mechanical Arm – Sees, thinks, acts
Marking a significant step forward for the robotic vacuum industry, the Roborock Saros Z70 boasts the world’s first*mass-produced OmniGrip, a five-axis robotic arm that comes folded into the vacuum’s ultra-slim 7.98cm body. The OmniGrip is able to unfold, extend and twist both horizontally and vertically in its five axis to pick up and move away obstacles including socks, sandals and other light objects under 300g(1), with more to be supported in future software upgrades.
In practice, during its first cleaning session, the Saros Z70 carries out its usual cleaning duties, detects and marks objects it can lift, then circles back to them, cleaning the missed areas in its second cleaning session.
The Roborock app will play a key role in how the OmniGrip operates. The OmniGrip will be disabled out of the box, and users need to activate it through the app, where they can choose different settings for its behavior. The app will let users decide what objects OmniGrip interacts with, the areas where they should be placed. For added peace of mind, the vacuum also includes a child-lock and safety stop button, allowing for immediate shutdown in any scenario. On top of the above, the OmniGrip is equipped with precision sensors, a camera, and an LED light, enabling it to determine its position, surroundings, and whether the object it grips is overweight.
StarSight™ Autonomous System 2.0: Pioneering Navigation, Obstacle Removal & Avoidance Technology through AI
The Roborock Saros Z70 takes performance to the next level thanks to its next-gen StarSight™ Autonomous System 2.0. Instead of using a traditional LDS tower module for navigation, the system integrates next-gen dual-light 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors and RGB cameras empowered by AI. The result is an unparalleled mapping of the environment and obstacle detection that allows the Robot to make intelligent decisions about how to operate or how to deploy the OmniGrip. With a sampling frequency 21 times (2) higher than Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) systems, the StarSight™ Autonomous System 2.0 achieves the most precise space mapping, home navigation, and obstacle detection. It also uses AI machine learning to detect up to 108 different obstacles (3) including easily overlooked ones such as socks, small toys, and loose cables.

In addition to that, the Saros Z70 will be enabled through OTA upgrades to utilize open-ended AI-driven recognition technology, empowering users to make use of the Obstacle Definition feature in the app to define and label up to 50 new objects (3) in the app for obstacle recognition purposes beyond the ones already recognized by default.
VertiBeam™ Lateral Obstacle Avoidance – Clean around unfolded cables
The Roborock Saros Z70 also features the brand new VertiBeam™ Lateral Obstacle Avoidance technology, which solves a big pain point for consumers who have cleaning needs around unfolded cables and irregular walls or furniture with irregular shapes. This breakthrough innovation adds a wide vertical laser on top of its single-point forward laser, lengthening the field of vision of the robot and better recognizing horizontal and vertical surfaces, especially useful around unfolded cables and dramatically reducing bumps against irregular walls or furniture.
22,000 Pa of Suction Power: Ultimate Vacuuming & Mopping Performance
The Roborock Saros Z70 features 22,000 Pa of suction power*. Paired with its dual anti-tangle system, made of a FreeFlow™ Main Brush and a liftable FlexiArm Riser Side Brush, which deploys itself to prevent hair from tangling around the vacuum, the Saros Z70 efficiently channels debris into the dustbin.
Meanwhile, when fitted, the Dual Spinning Mops can lift up to 2.2cm (1), allowing for better air circulation and drying, and preventing the dragging of dirt across clean surfaces. This ensures the Saros Z70 always provides a hygienic cleaning process and makes it a powerful ally in maintaining a pristine home environment.
The Roborock Saros Z70 is designed with efficiency in mind, becoming the slimmest robot vacuum in the market at just 7.98cm. This means the robot can reach areas under furniture that are hard to reach otherwise. Its AdaptiLift™ Chassis also has the ability to independently adjust the chassis height, enhancing the robot's ability to navigate over mid-to-long-pile carpets.

Multifunctional Dock 4.0
The Roborock Saros Z70 can be purchased with the Roborock Multifunctional Dock 4.0. The dock now supports 2.5-Hour (1) Fast Charge, a significant upgrade that reduces downtime by rapidly recharging the robot, allowing it to get back to cleaning in an efficient manner. Key innovations also include 80℃ (1) Hot Water Mop Washing, as well as Auto Mop Removal, which when activated through the app, detaches the mop when the robot is set to vacuum only or to vacuum carpets first, preventing unwanted dampness.
Simplified User Experience with Enhanced Roborock App
Making cleaning even more convenient, the all-new and enhanced Roborock App elevates the user experience by using SmartPlan™ 2.0, which leverages AI to automatically adjust and customize settings related to the vacuum’s cleaning route, suction power, and water volume based on environmental data and usage history. It is able to reduce suction power during quiet hours and even commands the robot to wash mops immediately after cleaning kitchens and bathrooms. It offers versatile custom modes providing users with more options to tailor their cleaning preferences and schedules.
Pet-Friendly Intelligence
The Saros Z70 is now empowered with a second and flexible view for more fun with video-relevant features, utilizing the camera built into the OmniGrip. The Video Call & Cruise function allows users to check in on your furry friends, schedule on-demand cruises, or manually control the robot’s patrols. Pet and Pet Area Recognition stops its main brush and moves aside in advance when approaching your beloved pets to avoid frightening them. Pet Snaps captures adorable snapshots of your furry friends during cleanups, readily available for you to download. Search for the Pet will make it roam around your home and help you find your pet. As always, focusing on privacy and security is our top priority, and the Saros Z70 ensures no images are stored. Voice Activation & Cross-Platform Matter Protocol
The Roborock Saros Z70 can be set up to become voice-activated through the “Hello, Rocky!” command and simple default instructions such as starting or stopping cleaning tasks. The Saros Z70 will also be enabled through OTA software updates with the Matter 1.4 Protocol, enabling it to work smartly with a range of home assistance ecosystems such as Apple Home. Separetely, at the time of launch, the Saros Z70 is already compatible with voice commands via Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri Shortcuts, and Google Home. It will also support Launcher Widgets, allowing one-tap access to custom cleaning routines, and an Apple Watch app will also be available, allowing for a quick cleanup startup as well as status check.
*Roborock was the first in the robotic vacuum industry to mass-produce this technology, launching it in January 2025.
